The University of Hertfordshire has won the prestigious Times Higher Education ‘Entrepreneurial University of the Year’ award.

Professor Tim Wilson, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hertfordshire said: “I am delighted and extremely proud. It is an honour for the University of Hertfordshire to be recognised in this way and is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our all staff and students. This recognition is not a result of one year of success; it is a result of sustained effort over several years.”

The 2010 Entrepreneurial University of the Year award, now in its sixth year, aims to recognise the ground-breaking work undertaken by UK higher education institutions to embed entrepreneurial activity in their organisations. The judging panel also looked at the extent that an institution’s environment and culture not only fosters enterprising thinking but also delivers significant entrepreneurial impact at all levels.

The Times Higher Education is the weekly magazine for higher education.
