IST College is an independent academic institution recognised by the Greek Ministry of Education, which in collaboration with the University of Hertfordshire offers undergraduate as well as postgraduate programmes of study.
IST College consists of three Academic Departments each offering its own Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes:
- Department of Business and Economics
- Department of Computer Science
- Department of Humanities & Health Sciences
The daily management of the College is the responsibility of the General Directors who for academic issues are supported by the Vice Chancellor and the academic board. The academic board is the highest board responsible for dealing with educational issues and policies of the College.
In 2010, IST College and the University of Hertfordshire signed the Heads of Agreement which is considered to bring this relationship to a next level. This new relationship is considered to be unique in Greece.
The agreement provides the option to the University to participate in the equity capital of the College. This agreement led to the creation of the Interim Board at IST College. The Interim Board consists of 9 members out of which 2 are senior members of the University of Hertfordshire, 4 members from the existing shareholders and three independent members with an international profile, an academic profile and a business profile. The Interim Board is the body taking strategic decisions on issues relating to academic policy, financial policy, HR policy and marketing approach.
